Dr. Stacia Micheletto passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on November 24 from complications following surgery two days earlier. Following her graduation from TCU in 1995, Dr. Micheletto attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston followed by residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her accolades include membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Chief Resident at Baylor's Menninger Department of Psychiatry, and recipient of the Laughlin Foundation Award, Distinguished Laughlin Fellow. She was Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and engaged in private practice in the Houston area. She was an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, specializing in eating disorders. Though a Montana native and relatively recent resident, Stacia adopted Houston and felt embraced by the city and the medical community. Dr. Micheletto died surrounded by family and friends as well as superb doctors and nurses with whom she had worked diligently to help others. Dr. Micheletto is survived by her loving husband, Capt. Shane Blake; parents, Vicki and Richard Micheletto; younger brother Jason, his wife, AJ, and their unborn child; and numerous other relatives and friends. Stacia was vibrant and alive with interests in music, books, theatre, and sports. She was accompanied in her passing by her unborn child, is dearly loved, and will be profoundly missed.
